Speaker: Suzanne Austin

Start by letting us know who you are, what position you are applying, and in what city/state.

Suzanne Austin: Hi, my name is Suzanne Austin and I'm applying for the office manager, patient experience position. I currently live in Weatherford just off of just north of Maine. So I'm not far from downtown. I have three boys who go to Pisd. My husband is a Fort Worth police detective. I am looking for a new opportunity for a lifetime career. I am been a stay at home mom off and on. So I am looking for a job that I can make mine and my own and I can learn from and grow with. I would really like the opportunity to just show you what I can do for your company. Thank you for taking the time and considering me for this position.

Why should we hire you?

Suzanne Austin: Why should you hire me? I'm honest, hard working, I'm always willing to learn new things. I know what it, how important patient care is. My sister in law is a quadriplegic. So I have been dealing with her care for the last 15 years as well. And I know my entire family is first responders, medical field. So I know how important patient services are for people. Um I would really like the opportunity to show you what I can do. Ok?

What is your greatest accomplishment so far?

Suzanne Austin: I would like to say, my greatest accomplishment so far in my life is to raise three wonderful boys and be there to help my husband, support, support him in his career. And for him to grow as far as he has in the Fort Worth Police Department. Now, I would like the opportunity to grow my career in the medical field.

Describe your ‘perfect’ day?

Suzanne Austin: My perfect day would be surrounded by my family on a beach somewhere tropical, just having a good relaxing day or sitting on the back porch on a nice spring, summer day playing cards or watching my kids play.

In the next 3-5 years where do you see yourself personally and professionally. Share as many details as you are comfortable with.

Suzanne Austin: In the next 3 to 5 years, I would like to be stable in a career that I can be proud of. As far as my family life, I would like for them to still be happy and healthy. My boys growing in 3 to 5 years, I'll have two almost out of high school. So, and my husband would be almost retired in about 10 years. So we'll be going closer to that. But I would like the opportunity to advance in the medical career that I could be proud of.

Who do you think of for; motivation, inspiration and direction? Why

Suzanne Austin: Who do I look for? For inspiration and motivation. My kids, my kids are my inspiration and my motivation. I do everything for them to try and make their life better as well as making our family's life better and more successful in any way I can, I will always be there for them just like they are always there. It's for me to motivate me and keep me going.

What gives you a sense of Purpose?

Suzanne Austin: What gives me a sense of purpose, my family, my kids, my three boys, my husband and helping people taking care of my sister in law. I love her very much. I take care of her when I can I take care of anybody and everybody that needs help. I'm always willing to help people with the best of my abilities. I'm currently a 911 dispatcher. So I feel like I help there as much as I can as well.

What does success look like to you?

Suzanne Austin: Success for me is a happy, successful family. And if you can have a job that you love, then that makes it all so much better. And I would love the opportunity to have that to work with people that truly inspire me, work with people who are willing to teach me, willing to let me learn, uh um willing to help me succeed the best of my abilities.

What would be your top 3 book recommendations regardless of genre and why?

Suzanne Austin: My three most recommended books. It's been a while since I've read a book which is sad to say, unless it was for learning something on how to do something, which I do like how to do books. I'm always trying to figure out how to do something else, how to learn something new. Um, but as far as like, genre, I do like Nicholas Sparks, like a romance movie but not too smutty. I mean, it's kind of weird to say. But, um, but mostly probably how two books or romance books would be the, and as far as the third children's books, I love children's books and I love reading them to my kids. So anybody, and when I worked in special education I got the opportunity a lot to sit and read books to kids and I love doing that.
