Speaker: Jill Clark
How painful, limiting, or life impacting was your hearing loss or tinnitus before visiting our office?
Jill Clark: So I had um noticed some uh inability to understand conversation and to react to conversation. And so I would just be nodding my head and sometimes I'd say what and what and what, more and more I was saying what, what, what and I would turn the volume up more and the TV, and more and more and then the car and the radio higher and higher and then the tent just started. So it was, it's very much impacted um my life prior to coming here.
What are the positive changes in hearing, reduced tinnitus, improved memory, robust relationships you've experienced with treatment?
Jill Clark: Since I started here at the clinic, I have experienced some new changes in my life. It hasn't been very long, but I've already seen some changes. I've heard about changes from, um, my friends and family. I can understand conversation better. The volume on the TV is now about four points lower than it was. And I'm not, uh, blaring the TV. And my boyfriend is very happy about that. And I've also noticed that I am starting to remember dates a little bit better, not having to check my phone 14 times a day about where am I supposed to be? What time is it supposed to be? So, there's some slight changes and the tent is changes. I've noticed the first week. So it's, it's slow changes. But I am very excited about the changes so far.
What were your top concerns when deciding to treat your hearing loss?
Jill Clark: So my initial fears about pulling the trigger were obviously the cost. Um But when I went to the place that our insurance covers 100 per, not 100%. Most of it, I found out that the prices are not that much difference, all in all bottom line, not that much difference and that their services didn't cover what the services are and the support was here. So that really made up um my decision for as far as pricing and then my other concern was that I was gonna be disappointed and that I might get my hopes up and then reality wouldn't be what I was really hoping for. So that is completely gone. I noticed a difference the first week and I am so happy I did this. I'm so happy.
How would you describe your treatment experience with Hearing and Brain Centers?
Jill Clark: My overall experience with hearing and brain centers has been a delight, so easy, so comfortable. I think of them like an extended family. They are here for me. They want this to be the best experience ever for me. They want me to have great hearing and to reduce my tinnitus and I cannot recommend them highly enough. It's been wonderful.
How important was Dr. Darrow's book and pre-education to your treatment journey?
Jill Clark: Doctor Dara, what can I say? What an incredible um book, what incredible information and then the uh meeting that we went to and I got to meet him live and to really hear what other people had to say. Some people were in there that had already received their hearing aids and some new people in there, the information that he gave me really uh proved to me that the company was on my side and they would be here and they would support me the whole time. And it was wonderful to get to talk to him one on one after and just ask him additional information. So I suggest going to one of his meetings um if he's here ever and also reading the book, it was wonderful. I I can't recommend it high enough.
What is the #1 thing you would tell friends or family who struggle with hearing loss/tinnitus about seeking treatment right away?
Jill Clark: The number one thing that I would tell friends and family is don't wait. I put this off for so long and I knew that I really needed help and I kept trying to find a way to say no. But the best thing I ever did was say yes and to come here and I highly recommend not waiting because I missed out on a lot and don't wanna do that again.
