Speaker: Dennis L. Wagner

How painful, limiting, or life impacting was your hearing loss or tinnitus before visiting our office?

Dennis L. Wagner: Yeah, it's not really painful, more, um, annoying, unable to hear certain sounds. My wife and grandkids and even ch grandchildren were saying, um, it was getting real loud before I came in.

What are the positive changes in hearing, reduced tinnitus, improved memory, robust relationships you've experienced with treatment?

Dennis L. Wagner: Some of the most positive changes I've seen is I don't hear the tinnitus while I'm wearing hearing aids. I can hear my spouse and my grandchildren. Um, very good. Um, I do have an issue and I take them out but, um, it has helped with the tinnitus to the point that, uh, where my hearing aids 12 to 14 hours a day because of it.

What were your top concerns when deciding to treat your hearing loss?

Dennis L. Wagner: My biggest concern before I started using hearing aids was not being able to hear what was going on around me. Um I got to where I was focusing on one thing and ignoring everything else around me. Um Now I can hear multiple things around me and I'm able to control my environment a lot better.

How would you describe your treatment experience with Hearing and Brain Centers?

Dennis L. Wagner: My treatment here at home and Brain and Hearing Center has been awesome. It, the people treat you great. It's been a wonderful experience. I am so glad I came here when I did. Um even though I was using hearing aids from another company, um the support and the benefits of the hearing devices I've gotten from these folks have been awesome. I'm very appreciative of.

How important was Dr. Darrow's book and pre-education to your treatment journey?

Dennis L. Wagner: Doctor Darrell's book was very informative. Um, there was a lot that I didn't know. Of course, I'm not a doctor either. But, um, it didn't, it let me know what and why I was experiencing some things that I was going through. Um, it was a very easy read. Very good to read and I'm glad that they have it available to you.

What is the #1 thing you would tell friends or family who struggle with hearing loss/tinnitus about seeking treatment right away?

Dennis L. Wagner: The first thing I would tell friends or family about your hearing loss, get in and get it checked. Uh, if you're having to repeat yourself or ask other people to repeat yourself because you didn't understand them or they start sounding weird, you're not understanding words. Get in and get it checked. It's worth it. Um, it will improve your relationships. I know my wife was always yelling at me to and happened to yell because I couldn't hear her get in and get your ears checked. It's worth it.
