Teresa McLaughlin : Being healthy is actually one of the most important things that you can do, I believe.
Question 1 of 3: Describe a specific moment when your joint pain stopped you from doing something you love and how that felt.
Teresa McLaughlin : Hi My name is Teresa. The first time joint pain stopped me was in a yoga class about 13 years ago when we were supposed to get on the floor and sit cross-legged, and I just couldn't do it. I couldn't cross my legs and sit there, it wouldn't go. And that was my first hint that I had something wrong with my hips. So, Two total hip replacements, and a knee and a shoulder, and whatever else. I've been really working hard to be active. I go to the gym twice a week, and then I walk the other days, 3 to 5 miles because I don't want any more replacements and I wanna keep moving as much as long as I can. I started taking GLX3 About a month ago. I had really good results with chondroitin and glucosamine when I was a runner. After a hip, you can't run. After hip replacements, you can't run. So, I gave this a try, and I can really tell when I'm at the gym. I can lift 25, my 35 pound weight routine. My hands don't hurt as much, and I don't need the grippers. Usually, I have to have all kinds of accommodation cause I just can't move my hands or grip very well. I've noticed I have a little more freedom of movement. I'm really excited about that because there's a lot of osteoarthritis in my family. My mother and my grandmother and all of her sisters had quite a bit of it, and back then, there wasn't a lot they could do about it. So I keep moving, I take, keep taking my supplements and anything to help my old, old bones, I'm really excited about. So, I'm gonna keep it up with this GLX3 to see how it keeps performing, and so far, so good.
Question 2 of 3: What made you finally try GLX3, and how soon did you realize it was different from everything else you’d tried?"
Teresa McLaughlin : Question number 2, what made you finally try this? I had really good luck with glucosamine and chondroitin when I was running. But after hip replacements, I couldn't run anymore. And I tried fish oil for a while, but it was so burpy, it really made me burpy with fish burps. So, this is different because I don't have those fish burps, and I can tell my hands are softening, my grips strength is better, and I don't need as many accommodations and when I'm on my rotation in the gym.
Last Question: What's the best part of feeling better?
Teresa McLaughlin : The best part of feeling better, I tell you, when I had my hip replacements, and I had ended up having 3 total hip replacements, and that's another story. But being in a walker when you're 50 years old, and, you know, being glad you could go 100 ft was really different from my background where I was typically running half marathons. And that was a sad day for me, but also very motivating because that's the day I decided that I wasn't gonna give up. I was gonna keep moving. I was gonna lift weights, and now I regularly go. And the best part of feeling better is, as you age, you wanna be independent and move and still fit in your clothes, and being healthy is actually one of the most important things that you can do, I believe. When it's taken away from you, you certainly know how precious it is. I love showing off my arms. But I also just love being able to walk, and I really love coming to a gym and lifting those heavy weights. Heavy for me is a 35 pounder, but I'm, I've got a great personal trainer who works with my accommodation so that I don't hurt myself or I don't overdo it. And he's also really good about accommodating my poor grip strength, and he's even noticed that it's gotten better. Yeah, it's nothing worse than dropping weights in the gym. But for me just, you know, the stress of trying to grip something when your fingers, start getting misaligned. I can tell my thumb is starting to go, my fingers, my joints are starting to go sideways. And my poor mother's hands are all over the place. And I look at her hands and I think, that's gonna be me if I don't do something.
