Speaker: Derek B.

Tell us about your Guitar journey before you discovered Steve Stine and GuitarZoom.

Derek B.: just kind of revisiting, my journey with guitar, I started when I was younger and took a long, long break due to just life, family, kids, not being able to afford equipment and all that stuff. But, uh, now that I'm more settled in my life and, well into my career, I just, I just wanted to get back to it. So I have in the past six months and I'm just having a blast with GuitarZoom and especially Steve's method of teaching. And, it's really easy to follow on the videos. And the one thing I like about the videos is that I can always go, you know, back , and I've revisited some of the course material I've already reviewed before. And, it's just great, can't say enough about it. I'm really enjoying myself.

How would you describe the results you’ve seen in your personal playing and learning of the guitar?

Derek B.: my understanding of chords shapes, and currently doing the scales learning the positions of the scales and all this stuff has just really been helpful because the biggest challenge I've had is is understanding the fretboard and knowing what notes, you know, go together what, you know, so this has just been an eye opening experience for me. And this all just started about six months ago. So I'm having a blast. and it's very well done. Can't, couldn't ask for more.

What was something you didn't expect from GuitarZoom that really surprised you?

Derek B.: I guess what I got that I didn't expect was, you know, the Steve specifically just being so friendly and understanding, with, you know, brand new beginners, the courses are broken down into very doable and understandable steps and I like the fact that I can work at my own pace because, I've had ADD my entire life so I don't really learn in the same fashion that most people do classroom type things. But this, the video sessions are just awesome because I can go back and watch and re-watch and re-watch and until I can get it. So, and that there's no timeline, you know. So, I really enjoy that about, about this program.

If you have to compare GuitarZoom to any other alternative, what would you say?

Derek B.: I have signed up for other courses before with different companies and honestly, they, in the beginning, they're all, you know, really friendly when you're about to sign up and then, you know, once you sign up, having the ability to make contact and ask for suggestions or whatever was basically nil um and the few times that, that I did try with other programs, they never, they either replied, well, you know, we don't do that or, you know, we want you to pay more for the experience to be able to, you know, chat with us or whatever. So, I just, it never went anywhere and that kind of turned me off. So, the thing about the GuitarZoom that I really like is the the AI ability to ask questions and get immediate feedback from multiple sources on your site and the chat factor as well as now I've become an Inner Circle member with GuitarZoom. So being able to text, email, chat, and I haven't really had to do it much. I've had a couple of video calls and those have been great, just getting to know people and since I'm brand new at this, you know, that means a lot. It's very encouraging. and so, you know, I haven't really gotten too far into the program of, uh, you know, I'm, I'm still learning. I'm very, new and, but I'm having a great time and it's challenging me yet. I get a sense of accomplishment. It's not too hard, you know, it's challenging but not hard to accomplish. So, I've enjoyed and thoroughly enjoyed it so far.

What would you say to someone who's thinking of signing up for a GuitarZoom Course?

Derek B.: Yeah. Anybody considering signing up for GuitarZoom, I think it's a great investment in yourself. First of all, it's helping me achieve a lifetime lifelong goal that I've had to, to learn how to, you know, play and master the guitar, being able to, you know, sit down and play with, other musicians, which I haven't done yet, but I'm looking forward to it. And my confidence is slowly getting there. I've been playing for about six months, maybe a little bit longer. and I have signed up for other courses before. that kind of left me wanting or, they were just going too fast for me to, to grasp and understand. So having video options to be able to re-watch videos. And the chat option on the website, you know, for asking questions is phenomenal. Everybody has been so nice and accommodating and friendly. I love it and I would do it all over again.
