Speaker: Kate Wilbanks, Customer Sales Rep
Can you share a little about your background and experience? What led you to join GTS Transportation as a remote team member?
Kate Wilbanks: Hi, guys, my name is Kate. I'm in logistics industry for more than eight years. Right now. GTS is my fourth US logistics company. Um, from the beginning I was a logistics coordinator and then a freight broker. And now I'm a salesperson here at GTS for a year and a half, last four years, I think, after COVID I was working remotely. So when I was looking for a job last year I considered both office and remote options. And, um, since in my country, the situation is not really stable right now, I think it's good to have a remote job. And when GTS caught my eye I was pretty much ready and excited.
How have you found your experience working remotely for GTS so far? What aspects of the job do you enjoy the most?
Kate Wilbanks: Well, I like working remotely for GTS cause I already have remote experience and I know how to build my work schedule to make it more productive and comfortable for me. And I enjoy working in the team with other guys. Um What I enjoyed the most is you always learn from people you work with, um you share experience with each other and I, I really like working in sales team right now cause it's kinda creative work. And of course, I have my routine stuff I do every day and the best is when you communicate with others to make a plan, how to find or get clients we want and everyone can bring their ideas, how to improve what we do. So, yeah, that's what I like the most.
What motivates you to stay with GTS, and how do you feel about the company's culture and support for remote employees?
Kate Wilbanks: I like my work schedule at GTS. I like that everyone is ready to help with anything. Team is really strong and hard working and well experienced, which makes me want to grow every time and develop my skills. And I think that company culture is really positive with great values, with great business strategy and work environment. And I like how management supportive, how they communicate with everybody and remote support is great too. I mean, IT is always ready to help if anything, they always stay in touch and that all motivates a lot.
Looking ahead, what are your career goals, and how do you see yourself growing within the company?
Kate Wilbanks: As a part of sales team, I learn from the best. So I want to develop my telemarketing skills to improve communication and speaking skills, to be more proactive and engaged team member. And I want to gain more experience as sales manager within the company and also gain leadership skills. So later I can teach someone else and lead a team.
