What motivated you to go back to high school at this time in your life? Why did you choose this program?
What motivated you to go back to high school at this time in your life? Why did you choose this program?
Mary G.: What motivated me to go back to high school at 37 years old was my children, me wanting to advance in my career, me wanting to prove to myself that I could do it. I chose this program because I'd seen a review like you're looking at right now.
What parts of the program helped you make it to graduation?
Mary G.: The parts of the program that helped me get to graduation was the teachers, my coach and then the tutors. They're there to help if you're having a hard time. Graduation Alliance has done so much for me and helped me through this journey because I didn't think I could do it, but they are there for you to get to where you need to be. They are going to make sure you graduate.
How has your life and/or mindset changed since earning your high school diploma?
Mary G.: I got a pay increase in my job, a new promotion I would say too, like a job promotion. I needed to get my high school diploma to become a 204b in my job, which is a supervisor at the United States Postal Service, and I have that now. So, hey, I promise you and the confidence is up there.
What are your plans now that you’ve graduated?
Mary G.: Now that I got my high school diploma, my plan is to go to college. I want to further my education. I've always wanted to be a nurse, RN, and I think I'm going to go for it now.
What's one piece of encouragement you'd offer someone who is considering this program?
Mary G.: Know that you can do it. Stay focused. It might get hard sometimes. But know you have your coach, your teacher, you have the tutors there. You can do it. If I did it at 37. I know you can do it too.
