What does Women’s Equality Day mean to you?
Candice Erasmus: Hi, my name is Candice Erasmus and I'm from DigiCloud, South Africa. What comes to mind when I think of, um, women's equality, I think of a, a quote and it resonates deeply in my own life as a woman in tech, I really had to find my voice and I love what Oprah Winfrey says. She says you get in life what you have the courage to ask for. And so as a woman in tech, I'm putting the challenge out to you. You need to bring what you have, bring your voice, speak on behalf of yourself, on behalf of the other women that are around you. Don't focus on what you're not getting if there is inequality, rather take all of your energy and plow it into what you do have. Build on it and show people what you've got, bring you as the unique identifier and make sure that you don't let anything dampen that. And for me, when it comes to life, it's not actually a competition between men and women. It's a collaboration. So make sure you don't let anyone stop you from bringing what you were born to give.
