Speaker: Vladislav Shishporenok, Tech Lead, Ethos Foundation
Introduce yourself
Vladislav Shishporenok: Hi, my name is Vlad and I'm the tech lead of Ethos Foundation, the non-profit that is located in Armenia, and that provides systemic help to those who have suffered the consequences of war in Ukraine and Nagorno-Karabakh.
What led you to AppSheet, what problems were you trying to solve?
Vladislav Shishporenok: In the aftermath of the war in Ukraine, hundreds of refugees had to flee their homes, leaving behind everything they knew. Many of them ended up in Armenia, where a humanitarian aid point Ethos was established to provide assistance to them. To manage the influx of refugees and streamline aid distribution, I created an app using Google AppSheet. This powerful and intuitive platform let me create a mobile app that allows volunteers to efficiently manage refugee applications and the humanitarian aid warehouse. Ensuring that aid was distributed fairly and effectively. And it is possible using their own mobile phones as AppSheet is designed to create mobile friendly apps first.
What is the most useful app that you or your coworkers have deployed? What impact did it have on your organization?
Vladislav Shishporenok: The most powerful apps that I created is for sure that CRM that I mentioned before. As I had an experience of data warehouse lead in one of the largest I.T. retailers, I modeled up after I.T. systems of retailers such as warehouse management systems, and it performed similar tasks. It supports warehouse management, individual refugee requests and their visit history. All data about the finalists is stored in the app, allowing volunteers to quickly access their background, visit history and needs, even if they have never talked before.
What benefits have you realized with AppSheet?
Vladislav Shishporenok: One of the main benefits of using AppSheet is that it allows non-technical individuals to create custom, mobile and web applications without the need for coding. This can save organizations time and money by eliminating the need for expensive development teams or outsourcing, which is crucial in the nonprofit sector.
What’s the future of AppSheet within the organization?
Vladislav Shishporenok: We'll definitely stay with AppSheet as it is the most powerful and cheap platform that fulfills demand for our tasks. In a world where technology can often seem overwhelming and complicated, this app that we created is a reminder that technology can be harnessed for good and can make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.
Technology that's making a difference and providing aid for people in need.
