Happy Women’s History Month/International Women's Day - How are you celebrating?
Siqi Mou: I'm celebrating International Women's Day through a trip and some social events with my own mother. My mom was a big girl boss before this girl boss determination was even in vogue To me, She's actually one of the biggest female influence in my life. I admire her so much and also all the amazing influence she's had in my life, whether it is on work ethics, how to maintain relationships with people and how to work hard and never complain. So I'm excited to be cherishing this time with my own family. My mother is also visiting me from overseas because of my newborn daughter. So I think there's no better way to celebrate three generations of female empowerment through a trip with my newborn daughter and my mom.
2023's International Women's Day theme is #EmbraceEquity. How do you think (the collective) we can work together to impact positive change?
Siqi Mou: As a female entrepreneur, one of the key things I think we need to do better to really give a female employees the sense of empowerment is truly the financial independence. So without financial independence, it all of these other things is kind of, you know, difficult to achieve. So that comes down to things like generous pay leave, especially when it comes down to maternity leave and also paid time off. So we as our company were very generous about these policies and we want to make sure that every single female employees that we hire have a high sense of freedom in this kind of aspects and so that they can feel free to make these choices, even as working mothers.
