Happy Women’s History Month/International Women's Day - How are you celebrating?
Agustina Sartori: Hi, I am Agustina Sartori. I founded Glam Street, an augmented reality company in the technology space and beauty space that was acquired by Ulta Beauty in 2018. And since then, I've been part of the digital innovation team at Ulta Beauty. I think Women's History Month is important because it's a time for us to reflect. It's a time for us to look back and appreciate everything that other women have done in the past to be where we're at today. At the same time, it's a time for us to reflect about the future and understand that it's up to us to really define our role and the impact that we want to have no matter what you're working on, no matter what your role is in a company, you have the possibility to impact another woman's life and uplift their careers and we can all serve as role models for somebody else. I think it's our responsibility to think about these things and to be thoughtful about how can we impact somebody else's life and help all of us move forward.
2023's International Women's Day theme is #EmbraceEquity. How do you think (the collective) we can work together to impact positive change?
Agustina Sartori: I think it's very important to question ourselves, to question ourselves, to look at ourselves of where we're at today and understand: Are we doing enough? What else could we be doing? What are those little things that could help make the difference? And that only us from our vantage points can see or can do. And I think it's important also for all of us, every single person, no matter what gender they are to really educate ourselves and avoid jumping into conclusions and to challenge gender stereotypes that are deeply ingrained in our society to really move all of us forward.
What advice would you give to the next generation of women as they begin their careers?
Agustina Sartori: If I had to say something to a woman just starting their careers, what I would say is that we are all different and who you are, makes you unique. You don't need to try to blend in and being transparent, being honest and being who you are is your superpower.
