Happy Women’s History Month/International Women's Day - How are you celebrating?
Lauren Nemeth: Happy Women's History Month. I have the joy of celebrating this month with my two daughters and actually of my 12 direct reports I have today, nine of which are amazingly talented women and so celebrating them, recognizing their accomplishments, and continue to sort of push the conversation forward in terms of what more we can do for women in the workplace.
2023's International Women's Day theme is #EmbraceEquity. How do you think (the collective) we can work together to impact positive change?
Lauren Nemeth: Embracing equity is critically important. I think it starts with recognizing the fact that it is inequitable today in terms of how men and women are actually treated. And to really hear the stories of women and their struggles. And I think get to the root cause of where inequity lies and whether that's from a pay perspective, from a recognition of rewards perspective, from a communications perspective, from an enablement perspective. We really need to drill into the key areas that women are struggling with today and unlock a lot of opportunity.
What advice would you give to the next generation of women as they begin their careers?
Lauren Nemeth: For the next generation of women, I would love to see them be fearless, curious and ultimately resilient. There is so much opportunity out there that you can learn from that you can contribute towards. And it really starts with a place of confidence to really go without fear and pursue a lot of opportunities. Be curious about different ways of doing business or different roles that you can take in the workplace and you will inevitably get knocked down along the way. But to remain resilient focused on the task at hand, confident in yourself and your abilities is what will carry you forward.
