Tell us a little bit about yourself and the work you do

Olivia Gorvy: Hi, I'm Olivia Gorvy and I'm the Director of Partnerships at AI21 Labs. I made Aliyah to Israel about 4.5 years ago and I've been working in startups in Tel Aviv ever since. At AI21 labs I am the director of partnerships, which means I manage the external relationships involving all of our product lines, including Wordtune, Wordtune Read and AI21 Studio.

What does Women's Day mean to you?

Olivia Gorvy: Women's Day is an amazing opportunity to recognize and remember all of the incredible women in your life, from your friends, to your mom, to your grandma, to your mother in law, who have been there to support you and help you along the way, both personally and professionally. And it's also a really important reminder that we all rise together, so helping other women is actually helping yourself.

What are some of the things we can do as individuals and as businesses to support women's equality?

Olivia Gorvy: I think it's critically important that other women, especially younger women, see women who have advanced in the company. So it's important to promote women. Obviously it's important to pay women equally. And I think it's really great to have a community of women within your company where everyone can share their thoughts, their concerns, can talk through any any issues, so there's this sort of circle of mentorship and support amongst other women within your company.

What would you say is your proudest achievement?

Olivia Gorvy: I think my proudest professional achievement has been my work managing teammates. I approach management with a lot of empathy and kindness, and I really see myself as that employee's advocate within the the company. And I want to help them grow and succeed and overcome any obstacles that are in their way. And I think that, you know, people don't leave jobs, they leave managers, and the greatest impact you can have is by being an incredibly supportive manager.
