Tell us a little bit about yourself and the work you do

Crystal Carter: Hi, my name is Crystal Carter. I am the Head of SEO Communications at WIX. I am also a mom. I like to garden and I have been working in the SEO industry and the marketing industry for about 15 years now. And I'd like to wish everyone a very happy International Women's Day.

What does Women's Day mean to you?

Crystal Carter: International Women's Day, to me is a great time to acknowledge some of the fantastic work that women are doing all year round. So whether you're working or caring or learning or exploring, you as an international woman are contributing to making the world a better place, and you're helping to inspire all of the people around you. I never cease to be amazed by the incredible women that I meet in my day to day, and I'm sure that during this International Women's Day I'll be able to discover more. And I hope you do too.

What are some of the things we can do as individuals and as businesses to support women's equality?

Crystal Carter: When I think about ways that we can make a change with regards to women's equality from a business point, personal, and an organizational point of view, there's a couple of things that come to mind specifically to advocate celebrate and congratulate the women who are doing an amazing job all the time. So when we think about advocating this is making sure that if you're in a space where where maybe a woman's voice is not being heard, that you are acknowledging and that you are making sure that you are advocating for that. So it could be that you're working on a project that doesn't have women's input and maybe should, almost certainly should, and you should advocate for making that space more inclusive. I think also if we're thinking about celebrating women, this is more of a question of making sure that the women, that you work with, women that are in your life, know that you appreciate them and know that you are rooting for them and that you know, are giving them the encouragement that they need to do their best and to take chances and do great things. Then I would also say to follow on from that is to congratulate them publicly. So to share publicly how much you admire the work that they're doing and to share publicly how much their contribution is making your project, your life, your team better, and I think that when we're able to do this, this helps to make sure that you have a safe space for women to work in, that they feel comfortable working in that space. and also that that other people know that this is the kind of world and the kind of reality that we want. So I think that if you are able to do those, those three things and you're able to get a long way forward.
