Why is Women’s History Month important to you? How are you celebrating?
Alejandra M Torchia: Women's History Month is important because we are celebrating contributions of women across the globe. We are also remembering all the sacrifices that women in the past made in order to build a more inclusive world.
2022's International Women's Day theme is #BreakTheBias. Can you speak to biases we can work to break in our communities and/or workplaces?
Alejandra M Torchia: Gender bias can be addressed sharing and communicating women achievements, sharing, experiences and learning from each other. Equality is another important topic to look at, as we need to ensure that every person has the same opportunity. We need to be aware that biases at work is everywhere. In the recruited process, development, coaching. So we need to be aware, educate ourselves, change some things and make a difference.
What advice would you give to the next generation of women as they begin their careers?
Alejandra M Torchia: My message to the new generation of women is live your life and career. Be strong, be vocal, educate yourself, look for what you want. Don't give up, you can achieve whatever you propose. The limit is the sky.
