Why is Women’s History Month important to you? How are you celebrating?
Agustina Sartori: I think that Women's History Month is important because our place in society and our role has been evolving over time. And this is because a lot of brave women actually questioned the status quo. I think it is important that we remember, where are we at today and also why. And understand that this is a journey and it's up to us to shape history. Today, right now, you have the power to shape your story and impact on the story of others.
2022's International Women's Day theme is #BreakTheBias. Can you speak to biases we can work to break in our communities and/or workplaces?
Agustina Sartori: So I think the biases topic is a very interesting topic and you know I started my career as an entrepreneur and an engineer in Latin America from from Uruguay. I moved to the US pursuing my business pursuing the startup I had founded. Keeping my team in Latin America. Believing that talent there was extremely valuable and a unique value proposition for my company and the growth of the company. And you know like I was very driven to show the world what we could do right. And what our diverse team from Latin America, a woman entrepreneur that moved to the US pursuing her dream could do right. So I think some of those biases I clearly faced a lot of roadblocks, biases, a lot of things I had to overcome um in this, in this journey, you know.a And I think some of the biases in a way are are showing our uniqueness. And we should identify them, we should own them, we should overcome them and then use this as a way to show others of what is possible.
What advice would you give to the next generation of women as they begin their careers?
Agustina Sartori: I would say if I was giving advice to the next generation of women that are beginning their careers to connect with yourself. To connect with the path you want to follow. Don't be afraid to do things differently. The path is not straightforward and I think it's important that we let life surprise us, you know. Listen, be curious, be open to new things that you didn't know that could happen, right? And I think then it's up to you also to inspire others and make the difference. You can always find somebody younger than you that needs your story um that you can inspire and then you can make an impact. In the end, we are all responsible for this. So I would say dive in, go ahead, don't be afraid and just you know, follow your path, follow your passion and go for it.
