Please introduce yourself and tell us what excites you most about joining the Good Shepherd community.
Michelle Ishmael: Hi, I'm Michelle Ishmael. I am Dr. McLeod's new executive assistant. I'm super excited to be joining the Good Shepherd community. I'm originally from St. Louis. My family and I have moved around quite a bit. But we've now been in Dallas for nine years. Again, I look forward to meeting everyone in the community and I'm really looking forward to being here.
What is an interesting fact about yourself or something people may not know about you?
Michelle Ishmael: An interesting fact about me is, my parents were in the Navy and so I was born in Japan. I don't remember anything about it but I hope to make it back there one day.
What is the best advice you ever received and who was it from?
Michelle Ishmael: So the best advice I've received maybe not the best, but definitely I remember was my dance teacher in about seventh grade, introduced us to pedicures and she made a big deal about as hard as we work, you know, with school and with dance, we definitely need to take some time for ourselves, not doing homework or anything like that. So a good way to do that is to take some time get a pedicure, take care of those dancers feet. And even though I'm not a dancer anymore, I still take care of those pedicures.
What's been the highlight of your summer?
Michelle Ishmael: I have to say the highlight of my summer is having my family back under one roof. With everyone going away to college, it's just, it's like, it's old times all over again and I enjoy it. I'm not sure they do - the kids - but I definitely do.
What brings you joy?
Michelle Ishmael: Something that excites me is starting this new job at Good Shepherd. Again, I've heard such wonderful things and now that I have a month or so under my belt, I see what everyone's talking about. It's a very special place I'm learning and I'm very excited to be a part of it.
