Speaker: Leigh Ann Brown, Faith Studies Teacher

Please introduce yourself and tell us what excites you most about joining the Good Shepherd community.

Leigh Ann Brown: Hi, my name is Leigh Ann Brown and this year I'll be teaching faith studies and helping with middle school chapel. I'm married to Kyle and we have three grown children who live on the eastern seaboard. Our girls are in New York City. Our son is in Philadelphia and we have a bonus daughter who's currently in college here in the Dallas area. An interesting fact about me is that during the pandemic, I decided to get chickens and build a chicken coop in my backyard and we currently have six chickens residing in our coup. And in addition to giving us delicious eggs, they also offer us a lot of entertainment. The best piece of advice I've ever gotten was from my friend Kim Mason and she said, "don't save all your special stuff for a special occasion." Meaning use your good China on a Tuesday night, drink that good bottle of wine just because you want to. Because sometimes when we save things for a special occasion, we end up never getting around to using them. The most fun I had this summer was going to Colorado and staying in my husband's family cabin for a couple of weeks where we got to enjoy much cooler weather, small town, Fourth of July and time with friends and family. The things that bring me joy in my life are being with my family, enjoying a good meal with a good friend. My puppy Teddy brings me endless joy because he's always thrilled to see me. And I also really love cooking, traveling and reading a really good book. I'm looking forward to all of the adventures for 24-25 and getting to know people in the Good Shepherd community better and to making Good Shepherd the best we can make it together. Thank you.
