Speaker: Lara Andersen, Physical Education Teacher

Please introduce yourself and tell us what excites you most about joining the Good Shepherd community.

Lara Andersen: Hi, my name is Lara Anderson and I'm the new PE teacher as well as the head volleyball coach for this upcoming school year. One thing that I'm really looking forward to is meeting all my new coworkers and all the new students, as well as getting to just be a part of the Good Shepherd family.

What is an interesting fact about yourself or something people may not know about you?

Lara Andersen: One thing that people might not know about me is that when I was about 14 years old, going into the ninth grade, I actually competed in the Little League Softball World Series.

What is the best advice you ever received and who was it from?

Lara Andersen: The best piece of advice I ever received from a coworker is that every mistake is a learning opportunity. And I find that true in my professional life, as well as my personal life.

What’s been the highlight of your summer?

Lara Andersen: I would say the highlight of my summer would be getting to travel to Arkansas and Ohio with my sons, so that they could meet family for the first time.

What brings you joy?

Lara Andersen: Most recently I would say what brings me the most joy is whenever I've come home after being away for a little bit. I walk into the door, my son will yell, "mommy's home!" and run and give me a big hug and that's just the best feeling ever.
