Speaker: Brigette Knackstedt, Middle School Learning Lab Teacher

Please introduce yourself and tell us what excites you most about joining the Good Shepherd community.

Brigette Knackstedt: Hi, my name is Brigette Knackstedt and I have been an educator for the past 15 years. I am greatly looking forward to being part of the Good Shepherd Episcopal School team. I will be working in the middle school Learning Lab and I am so excited to have this opportunity to help encourage children to be their best.

What is an interesting fact about yourself or something people may not know about you?

Brigette Knackstedt: Something people might not know about me is I am a twin. I have a twin sister who I love very dearly. Something else I did not even know about COE until my interview. But my husband and I go to Colorado every year and hike 14ers. I absolutely love being outside in the adventure of hiking. So I'm greatly looking forward to maybe joining some of these COE trips.

What is the best advice you ever received and who was it from?

Brigette Knackstedt: The best advice I've ever received was from my grandmother. When I was very young, she told me to never doubt the power of prayer. Whenever I'm in a tough situation, whenever I just wanna be thankful and let God know, I'm thankful. I stop and say a prayer and I truly believe this gets me through the hard times and makes a good day even better.

What’s been the highlight of your summer?

Brigette Knackstedt: I have four grandchildren. Two of my granddaughters were born within the last four weeks. So in the month of July, on July 11th, my first granddaughter was born, her name is Thea and on July 30th, my second granddaughter was born. Her name is Marigold.

What brings you joy?

Brigette Knackstedt: Time with my children is what brings me the greatest joy.
