Speaker: Greg Weber, Sixth & Eighth Grade Science Teacher
Please introduce yourself and tell us what excites you most about joining the Good Shepherd community.
Greg Weber: Hi. Good Shepherd. My name is Gregory Weber and I'm here to introduce myself as the new sixth and eighth grade science teacher. I was hired this summer after about five and a half years off staying home with our children, raising them. But before that I was a math and science teacher for 12 years. I taught fourth and fifth grade, which is very exciting because I love, being in the classroom, it brings me great joy, to see students where they are in the beginning and see where they end up and how much they grow, how much they learn and all the exciting things in the middle. Another exciting, bit about us is our five-year-old twin boys will be joining us at Good Shepherd. They'll be starting kindergarten in the fall, which is very exciting because I'll be there. They'll be there. And I can watch them grow and, learn all the fun things that kindergartners do. Some things that you might not know about me that might be a little exciting. I'm a former college tennis player. I've played tennis since I was seven. A little bit competitive. My father was military so we traveled all over the world. I was born in Berlin. So I don't speak German though and I don't have dual citizenship, but I get to tell people I was born in Berlin. So that's a fun fact. Being in the classroom really does bring me joy and I'm very excited to be getting back into the classroom and seeing what fun we can have with science. I'm also excited to join the community at Good Shepherd. Everybody that I've met, everybody that I interviewed with, everybody that I've talked to parents faculty, some students have raved about Good Shepherd. So it really does make me feel good that I've made the decision to come back into teaching and to be a Cougar. So I'm really looking forward to meeting you, your students and seeing where things go. So thank you for inviting me to the community and we'll see you around.
