Speaker: Iranzi Prince Jean Claude, Kigali, Rwanda
How (and why) are you taking action on climate change solutions in, for, and with your community?
Iranzi Prince Jean Claude: Hi, my name is Iranzi Prince Jean Claude, a final year university student in Civil Engineering in University of Rwanda. In the wake of divas floods in my community faced the harsh reality of climate change. Witnessing the destruction caused by deforestation and inadequate water management. I along with my fellow community members felt compelled to take action. That's why I initiated a movement, encouraging tree planting and educating our community about sustainable practices by fostering a sense of unity as we are told by our government and which we believe it to be true. We believe that together we can build a resilient and a greener future for our precious Ravu district. Thank you so much.
Who or what inspires/inspired you to care about climate change and climate solutions?
Iranzi Prince Jean Claude: OK. Thank you again for giving me the opportunity to answer this question about the inspiration. Yeah, I think the inspiration to come about climate change comes from the heart of our community. Witnessing the Red Cross's Youth response during the floods and the shared determination of my fellow neighbors, including my little brother fueled my commitment to climate activism, our collective strength and the resilience shown by those affected. Inspire me diaries. It's a reminder that by caring for our environment, we are caring for each other and the generations that we follow. That's what drives me to champion climate solutions in our precious love district and to be a happy activist of climate actions. Thank you so much.
