Speaker: Aida Pandeh, Ardabil, Ardabil Province, Iran

How (and why) are you taking action on climate change solutions in, for, and with your community?

Aida Pandeh: I am a pander from Iran. I face a unique challenge why climate change is a global issue, awareness and regulation in my country haven't reached the level needed to combat its negative consequences. This motives me to become a local advocate for climate action starting with my on community, I do this by educating others about the impact of climate change such as sharing stories and examples from other regions to explain the danger and potential solutions. The third one is raising awareness about the specific challenge faced by our community by highlighting how climate change like water shortage disproportionately affect marginalized groups, especially women and girls. The other one is empowering community members to take action like I provide resources and guidance on how individuals can contribute to mitigation efforts. The women and girls in my community are my biggest inspiration. Witnessing how climate change disproportionally impacts their lives, particularly through issues like weather, scarcity and limited education fuels my determination to fight for a better future. They are the most vulnerable yet so resilient and they deserve a voice becoming their advocate and equipping them with tools and knowledge to face. Climate challenge drives me forward together we can build a more sustainable future for our community and we.

Who or what inspires/inspired you to care about climate change and climate solutions?
