Luke Rodgers: Hey, my name is Luke Rogers and I'm based in Hamilton, New Zealand. I head up our mission. Activate Music. Activate Music was formed to have a space to share the good news of God around the world, primarily through music and video.
What can celebrate from the mission work of Activate Music in the past year?
Luke Rodgers: Over the last year, our team recorded a live album of songs that have come through Activate over the last 10 plus years. And we partnered with one of our other missions that we support here at Activate, which is Fantail Studios. And they recorded the video side of this over a couple of nights with our congregation. And these are really powerful nights of praise and worship. And we really believe that these songs that we've written here at Activate have power. They are real powerful declarations. And we really believe that God can use these all around the world to really change atmospheres and to come into people's homes, to come into people's cars wherever they may be. Maybe someone just wants to share a song to someone and introduce God to them, or just show what Christians are like when we're passionate about our God and and and that's really, really cool. So we're really stoked to be presenting these over this year as we start to release them, and already we're hearing some really positive stuff around the world, and how God is really coming into your life through the through the songs and changing atmospheres changing things in their lives. And we pray that we really we hear more and more testimonies of this.
Where have you seen transformation taking place?
Luke Rodgers: We recently released one of our songs from the live album called "Breakthrough Is Coming", and the reports back from this song that we've had have been amazing. We've had a lot of reports back saying that this song has really come at the right time. for a lot of people, especially members in our congregation. And we're super stoked to hear that, because we really recorded the song last year, and we're releasing it this year. And we couldn't have known that this would have been the, you know, the perfect time for someone to come out in their lives. So thank you, God, that You had, that He's a plan and we're just being obedient with what he wants to do. So yeah. Thank you, God.
What do you wish more people knew about your ministry?
Luke Rodgers: A couple of things I thought you should know. is that one, music travels wide and fast, and we were really blessed when we started Activate Music a couple of years ago. One of our songs, took off quite fast. And that got us a lot of people listening around the world. So we have a lot of people listening to these messages and in New Zealand and also around the globe. And it's really cool to see comments and stuff coming from everywhere. It means we have a big platform which is really cool that we have this, but it's also really a big responsibility. Also, Activate Music isn't really a specific team. There is a co-production team and a team overseeing it. But Activate Music is a mission that really comes out of our creative team. So depending on what the project is, depending on what we feel called to at that time, that could involve a whole bunch of different members from our creative team. So it's not necessarily the same people on every song on every, project. It could be a whole bunch of different people that you may not have seen on video yet in our creative team, which is really, really cool. We have an amazing team here at Activate.
What motivates you to love others?
Luke Rodgers: What motivates me to do this is one, I love Jesus. And I really want to get the Good News out to everyone, to all around the world. I want people in church to know that how amazing our God is, people outside of the church that may know Him, how amazing. our God is, people that don't know Him. I want everyone to know how amazing our God is. And that's really, really important to me. Also, we've had a really significant calling on our Creative Team and Activate for many, many, many years. This is not a new thing for us. There's been lots happening through our creative, in our church for many years, and I just get to be in the seat now with an amazing team. So really, that really motivates me to keep going, is that calling and knowing that that this is what God is calling us to
How can we pray for you?
Luke Rodgers: I think our our number one prayer request for the team is for rest, health and energy. They really did give a lot of time and energy into the live album last year. And the whole team really went to another level to record this album as well, so prayer for them would be amazing. Also, the production team is still going, to produce this album and release it and also Fantail Studios who are doing the video side. So prayer for all those guys would be amazing as well. Also, something that goes along with the energy prayer is a clear direction. I think as creators, it's really not too hard for us to come up with a lot of ideas of what we could be doing or what direction we could be going in. But we really need to hear clearly from God. So we know where to invest our time and energy into. So clear direction from God, where to go next, and rest, health and energy for our team would be amazing. Thank you.
