Pastor Ray Picket: Hi, I'm Ray Pickett. I'm the CEO of Activate Education Group, a company that is focused on Changing Lives through Learning, and Activating Community Transformation through Education.
How does Activate Education Group show love to others?
Pastor Ray Picket: We share God's love not only with our staff and our students, but also our stakeholders in small ways and in big ways. It might be making somebody a coffee. It might be sitting down with somebody who is struggling with a situation. Or it might be sharing our faith and encouraging somebody on their journey to find and discover life with Jesus. It's all about giving, giving to make a difference, bringing Heaven to Earth. That's how we show our love.
How do you personally show love to others in your role?
Pastor Ray Picket: How do I personally show love at work? I think that's a great question. There are two ways that I think about that question. One is using the gifts that God has given me to bless others. For example, I love lifting up and encouraging others. And so I try and do that every day in every way I possibly can. The other way that I like to express the love of God is tuning into the voice of The Holy Spirit, listening for His whispers and following His lead.
Where have you seen transformation taking place?
Pastor Ray Picket: When I think of someone's life who has been transformed, I instantly think of a tutor who's recently joined our team and who shares with me that in her previous employment was unable to share her faith. But now, she says, that Activate is an open door to share her faith with work colleagues and others to pray and to join in with devotions, she said it's such a positive change for good, and she loves the environment and loves contributing to it.
When have you smiled, knowing God is at work?
Pastor Ray Picket: What brings me great joy is to see the miracles that the Lord performs in and through and amongst us. It's the Lord who's leading Activate Education Group and it is so good to be in partnership with Him and what He's doing. And that's why I love this journey, because I know that He's with us. It's been a difficult journey over the last 2 to 3 years, but knowing that He is with us, knowing that He is for us makes all the difference.
