Where do you fit in the Activate Family?
Feby : Hello everyone, My name is Feby and I work with Community Link Trust as their Social Worker.
How does Community Link Trust show love to others?
Feby : We work with clients who have very high needs and are at very high risk. Serving them requires patience, kindness and being consistent with them, when they see us standing with them, and for them, it brings in transformation and change. That's our way of showing we care and we love them.
How do you personally show love to others in your role?
Feby : I work with very talented people who are highly passionate in what they do. Serving with them, learning from them is a very humbling experience. Some of them are not Christians, but when they ask for prayer or comment on how different we are, that's when I realise the impact we have on each other.
Where have you seen transformation taking place?
Feby : Last year, I worked with a very tired single mum whose Children had some very high needs, supporting her, sowing seeds of self-care and providing parenting tips. I could see change taking place. Her dressing style evolved. Her confidence grew, her posture changed... She was a new person. I wish I had taken a Before and After picture to see the difference.
When have you smiled, knowing God is at work?
Feby : As part of my role at Community Link Trust I oversee a programme where we work with high-risk young people. This is a very tough group, so every small win is celebrated as they are not seen very often. These are reflective moments for me and it makes me realise why I'm doing what I am doing.
What motivates you to love others?
Feby : I believe I express my love through serving and giving. Why do I do this? I guess it's the smiles, satisfaction, opportunities, and being able to be a catalyst for change. I guess that's my motivation.
