What does your company do and what is your role there?
Mike Walters: Form3 is a cloud native payment platform enabling financial institutions to make, receive and manage payments across a range of different geographies. I'm Mike Walters, I'm one of the co-founders and Chief Product Officer at Form3.
Why did you choose Google Cloud?
Mike Walters: Managing the payment infrastructure for large global tier financial institutions is super important. And as you can imagine, resilience is at the front of everything that we do at Form3 and so we are working with Google Cloud to enhance and improve the already outstanding capabilities of cloud native infrastructure for payments by combining Google Cloud with our own proprietary and other public cloud infrastructures to create the first multi-cloud environment for the provision of payments to financial institutions. We work with Google because their technology is robust, resilient, scalable and allows us to very, very effectively manage zero downtime with, and across, different cloud service providers in the market.
What have you achieved using Google Cloud solutions?
Mike Walters: By combining the cloud native engineering capabilities of Form3, the infrastructure of Google Cloud, we've managed to take payment infrastructure that's processing many, many, many tens of millions of transactions for tier one banks, many, many hundreds and thousands of GPS to a whole new level of resilience. And we're really excited about that. The Google team has been fantastic in their support and the tools there enable us to immediately and in flight of transactions in real time continue processing with the loss of individual data centers, the loss of cloud service providers, and indeed the loss of any component of the infrastructure that we manage. That's the first in payments. And we're really excited to be working with Google Cloud on that journey.
What are your future plans for working with Google Cloud?
Mike Walters: We're delighted to be working with Google Cloud. We see them as a key strategic partner as we roll out both internationally and across a whole range of new functionality on the platform that will inevitably and does include not just the tools but the expertise of the Google Cloud support teams that work with us. But we see that journey not just across our development and current production states, but into many markets as Form3 continues to expand geographically, but also interestingly, as we start to work through our own data analytics approach the tools and again, expertise that we've seen from Google Cloud has been fantastic. So not just the successful delivery and management of infrastructure for something as critical as payments, but also the ability to derive actionable insights for clients, and most importantly for us in our current iterations, the ability to effectively target fraud on behalf of consumers and financial institutions alike. So this is a journey for us. It's the beginning of that journey and we're delighted to have had the opportunity to do that with Google Cloud.
