What key challenges did you need help with before you started using Genio (formerly Glean)?
Kenneth Johnson: Hi, my name is Kenneth Johnson. I'm a student at Cal State University, Long Beach. I've been using Glean since the spring of 2024. However, I didn't begin using Glean until after I took some training sessions during spring break, with the assistance of uh Daniel Castro at BMAC, who was fabulous. He gave me a couple of sessions, a follow-up sessions, and I learned how to record Zoom lectures, but I also learned how to record my lessons while I was in the classroom. And then how to transcribe the lessons and then how to go back through my history of what those lessons were. So I appreciated that very much.
How has Genio (formerly Glean) helped you with those challenges and impacted your learning experience?
Kenneth Johnson: I'm blind in my right eye, and I also have some learning disabilities and my hands are in a lot of pain, so it's hard to write. So some of the challenges I was having, Glean helped me overcome those challenges by recording the sessions for me. I'm able to transcribe the notes, the lectures. And go back and review the notes and, and then to also be able to pinpoint what section of the lecture, taking screenshot of some of the material, but able to be able to see, hear, write and take notes. Glean is invaluable. I would recommend it for all students with any kind of learning disability. It has enhanced enhanced my, my performance as a student. And I'm proud to be a 65 year old Cal State University Long Beach student, but also a Glean user. So thank you, Glean. Appreciate you.
