What inspired you to pursue a career in your current field, and how did you get started in your role at GigaComm?
Vinayak Sharma: I've always been passionate about technology and that's one of my biggest hobbies that I delve into when I'm not working. So that really helped me look at opportunities that were in technology such as GigaComm. And when I came across this role, I thought it was perfect for me because of how much interest I have in technology and all just rolled from there. I have worked in sales in the past. So it was just building on that knowledge and experience and working for a company that has similar values
What are some of the most rewarding aspects of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job would obviously be collaborating with ourselves and marketing teams and to be able to build on their knowledge and experience and then bring that all together. In addition to talking to all these different customers and people every day and seeing business owners and how they run their businesses. There's a lot to learn from and I'm really excited and enjoying it at the moment.
What's your vision for the part of the business you're doing?
So I envision a culture of innovation and bringing people together and as much bring as much curiosity out of people as possible. And that's my goal. So as the sales team grows,
As we grow, sustainability and social responsibility would be integral parts of our teams and our core values as a business and just to be able to grow on that and build on that and bring out the best out of people. That's my vision for the next five years.
What advice do you have for others who are interested in pursuing a career in your field, and what skills and qualities are more relevant?
We work in sales and a bit of a lift field advice would be to just talk to as many people as you can. So, you know, when you see people in the lift, when you see people, walking up the stairs, try to be more open to them and talking to them and listening to their life experiences. And I feel like there's a lot to learn from other people and you can bring those ideas into your lives and help, grow your business or do well at your job. And that's what I've noticed is helping.
What is your favourite fictional universe (e.g., books, movies, TV shows), and why do you enjoy it?
My favourite fictional universe would probably be the Harry Potter Universe. I just grew up with reading the books and then getting into the movies and then I listened to the audio books when I grew up. So, yeah, the Harry Potter Universe, I read all the books and I think they're doing a HBO series on it. So I'm very excited for that.
