Dr. Mehta Talks Medicaid Unwind : Medicaid Unwinding

So I first heard about the Medicaid unwinding at the health care unscrambled event put on by the Georgians for a Healthy Future. And it was this amazing get together of state legislators and other advocates. And one of the issues that came up was about how the public health emergency during the pandemic was going to end. And Medicaid unwinding was going to occur, which basically meant that so many kids and families, people who are on Medicaid or Peach Care were now going to start undergoing new real eligibility. And it was the first time in about three years that this was going to happen and it was an understaffed process that was going to carry this out. And so it seemed like an avenue that could use a lot of advocacy and also had a lot of potential for, for errors and families losing temporary coverage loss without it being the most appropriate measure for them.
