Cathy Horne: Hello, I'm Kathy with Open Door Community House. Our programs help women, children, and families build long-term success through education, resources, hands-on training, community, and encouragement. Our programs teach to fish for a lifetime, not just for a day. Over 90 years of service, our efforts have been significant, but there's still work to be done. Cathy Horne: Children are our main focus at our Matthews Promise Academy after-school program. Through these efforts where reading development is our focus, it has made a huge impact on these students and their academic success, resulting in 100% advanced to next grade level, 90% of school improved attendance, and 84% improved in reading, uh, at their grade level. This is huge.
