What key challenges did you need help with before you started using Genio?
Valerian Wilson: My name is Valerian Wilson. I'm a student at Augsburg University, and I've been using Genio for 6 weeks now. I am a first generation college student and I struggle with physical and mental disabilities, so I need accessibility accommodations.
How has Genio helped you with those challenges and impacted your learning experience?
Valerian Wilson: I struggle to focus in class sometimes, especially due to pain caused by my physical disability, as well as my mental disability. Taking notes by hand can be very painful and difficult, and it was often a huge source of stress for me as I struggled to keep up and I often felt defeated, confused, and not smart enough. 6 weeks ago, I met with someone in the disability office at my school to talk about assistive note taking technology. And as she explained the features that Genio offered, I knew I didn't have to keep struggling and feeling inadequate. Now I can be confident in my note taking every single time I go to class without ever feeling behind or lost or struggling with pain.
