Speaker: Sheronda Myers, Law Student at University of the Pacific - McGeorge School of Law
What key challenges did you need help with before you started using Genio?
Sheronda Myers: Hi, my name is Sheronda. I am a 3rd-year law student at the University of the Pacific - McGeorge School of Law, and I have been using Genio Notes, formerly known as Glean, for the last 3 years. It was provided by my school as an accommodation request to my ADHD. And it has been a struggle, in the even undergrad to keep up with the professors or to take notes and pay attention a lot of times because I squirrel or I disassociate and I'm uninterested, so it helps with my recollection or to go back and review the things that I missed when I was taking those notes.
How has Genio helped you with those challenges and impacted your learning experience?
Sheronda Myers: So I struggle with ADHD and having Genio Notes recording and actually being able to transcribe the things that I missed because I'm either taking notes, I'm slow with taking notes, or I have squirreled and I'm not paying full attention. It's been a godsend to have Genio Notes recording and being able to transcribe. Oftentimes when I miss things, I have nothing to go back on. I forget the question that I wanted to ask. So what I like to do with Genio is make the heading of what we're discussing in class and then that way when I transcribe it, I can go to that section. And know what they were talking about at that moment. And also if I don't understand something, I can go back to that section and review it. I can even put in my Genio Notes when to review and where to review and it's been a godsend.
