What key challenges did you need help with before you started using Genio?
Naomi : Hi, I'm Naomi, a freshman at Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. I'm majoring in metals and jewelry and CAD/CAM currently, and I've been using Genio for over a month now. I mainly started using it since I've struggled with note taking and studying since I was a child due to growing up with dyslexia, which affects short-term memory, organizing and summarizing information on the fly. Now that I'm in college, long lectures have been difficult to focus on due to having to put most of my focus on taking notes, which has caused me not to participate in class as much, struggle to absorb what my professor is saying, even though I was putting all my attention into my notes. I wouldn't actually be understanding them. And when I went back to review, my notes were unorganized and rushed, which made studying for quizzes and tests very stressful. I was feeling anxious in class and worrying about being able to retain information.
How has Genio helped you with those challenges and impacted your learning experience?
Naomi : Since I've been using Genio, it has made studying and note taking so much easier and less stressful. I don't have to worry about trying to split my focus during lectures. Now I can use a record tool and listen back on anything I was confused about or needed more time to process. The quick notes and drawing features are really helpful in retaining more information since I can look back at my notes and see how they relate to the slides and the recordings. Instead of frantically writing everything down and creating unorganized notes, I'm actually able to focus on what the professor is saying now. My notes are easier to understand, which makes studying way less time consuming and stressful. It's really helped me to feel more prepared for discussions and tests for my classes, and I'm really looking forward to using Genio in the future.
