Speaker: Matthew Wamsley, Master's Student at George Mason University
What key challenges did you need help with before you started using Genio?
Matthew Wamsley: My name is Matthew Walmsley. I am a master's student at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. I've been using Genio Notes since the beginning of this semester. I struggle with pretty severe ADHD and dyslexia and dysgraphia, so, I also have auditory processing disorder. And one of the challenges I have is when I write notes in class, a lot of times, the struggle is I can't my brain just does not, process the information that the professor's saying, so it's so nice to be able to write notes and not worry about writing everything the professor's saying and then connect them back, so I've really enjoyed that part of the, of the app.
How has Genio helped you with those challenges and impacted your learning experience?
Matthew Wamsley: So this has helped me with so many things. My stress levels are way down. I feel like I'm retaining more in class because I'm not stressed out about missing something a professor saying while writing a note because I can just go back to the transcript or hit the audio record, and later, you know, the audio playback is just so convenient. So my stress levels are way down. I feel more confident with learning the material. I can play the material in my car when I'm driving to work. I don't spend a ton of time organizing my notes as I used to. I had notebooks for every class, and now I just have project folders that just work better for me. I have just really enjoyed this product, really enjoyed how much pressure it's taken off of me and how helpful it's been for me, and it has been super helpful for my challenges.
