What key challenges did you need help with before you started using Genio?
Lucy Birnbaum: Hi, I'm Lucy, and I'm studying funeral service and mortuary science at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. I've had Genio for just over a month and I've already found it pretty helpful as someone that's neurodivergent. Transitioning to college has been stressful and exciting, but I found that because I have this tool, I can have something that helps me with lectures and keeping up with lectures and processing information, especially as someone that's neurodivergent, because I struggle to absorb spoken content and spoken content is hard for me to understand sometimes. And this makes studying less stressful. And even though I've been using it for just about a month, I found that it helps me review at my own pace, and it's a huge relief for me because having a tool that supports how my brain works just is a huge, impactful tool. And I'm really grateful.
How has Genio helped you with those challenges and impacted your learning experience?
Lucy Birnbaum: I found that Genio has really helped me with my confidence, with studying and my stress levels when it comes to understanding what is being said in the class versus before, I was always just guessing, and now I have a clear transcript and an overview versus before when I didn't have this, it was more so I was really just guessing what was being said because the way that my brain works made it hard for me to understand what was being said, even though I was right there and I could hear everything. I just think that this really helps me with my confidence and my stress levels, and I'm really grateful for this tool.
