What key challenges did you need help with before you started using Genio?
Logan Hamilton: Hi, my name is Logan Hamilton. I am a 1L at Mitchell Hamline School of Law, and I have been using the Genio app since September of this year 2025. I am a first-generation law student, and at the beginning of this year, I was diagnosed with mild to moderate hearing loss, and coming back to school, this was a major challenge for me. I was unsure how it was going to be affected, and being in the classroom definitely was much harder, trying to hear the professor, trying to engage in conversation with my peers. So the Genio app has made sure that I am not missing anything and it's filling in any of those gaps for me. It's been extremely helpful for my success in law school so far.
How has Genio helped you with those challenges and impacted your learning experience?
Logan Hamilton: As I mentioned, it was difficult to hear some of my professors. Sometimes they would speak in a low tone that was a little too low for me to hear, or they would look down at their notes or away towards the projector, and it's much more difficult for me to understand somebody when I'm not looking at their mouth and trying to read at the same time as I'm trying to hear. So the Genio app has definitely bridged that gap for me. It's been a major implementation into my studying habits. I am able to receive great grades. I'm right above the curve on most of my classes, which has been extremely helpful. It's really helped my stress level in class in the beginning. I was very nervous about not being able to hear, and how that would impact my grades, but the Genio app, like I said, has really bridged that gap for me.
