What key challenges did you need help with before you started using Genio?
Kate Swenson: Hi, my name is Kate Swenson. I go to school at Western Technical College in La Crosse, Wisconsin. I'm currently in my 3rd semester, but this is only my 2nd semester that I've gotten to use the Genio program I am a full-time student. I work a full-time job. I'm a single parent to 3 kids, and I also have ADHD. So, without having that ADHD, I already have the cards stacked high against me for focusing on my studies and getting things done. But with my ADHD, I really struggle to focus on the lectures that I'm hearing, the reading, and really to be able to take notes. So with using this program, it really helps with that.
How has Genio helped you with those challenges and impacted your learning experience?
Kate Swenson: Honestly, Genio has helped me by listening to what I struggle to even pay attention to. It helps write it out for me and makes sure that I don't miss anything vital. It helps with my textbooks by listening to them, summarizing them, and then putting them into, you know, neater, more organized lists for me. It helps me get through everything just a little bit faster than I would on my own. It helps me balance my time a little bit better because I have a little bit more time. I'm a little less stressed now that I use this program. And I'm a little bit more confident when using this as opposed to relying on myself, because I may not have read or heard something properly, whereas I know that this is going to hear it just right.
