What key challenges did you need help with before you started using Genio?
Eleanor Rouse: Hi, I'm Eleanor, I'm studying dentistry at Aberdeen University, and the key challenges that I needed help with specifically from Genio was that because I'm dyslexic sometimes I struggle to watch a lecture and write notes in the time while also being able to fully understand and process what is being taught to me. So the technology was really useful in the sense that I could, download the lecture slides, put them into the processor, sit down, listen to a lecture, have it recorded for me and then transcribed and, and then I can then look back at that whenever I want, whenever I need to check, and it's all there without me misspelling anything, trying to remember stuff so yeah it's great.
How has Genio helped you with those challenges and impacted your learning experience?
Eleanor Rouse: The software has made me feel a lot more confident in keeping up with schedules and timings on certain pieces of work, so I know I don't have to sit down for hours on end and listen to a lecture or go through lecture notes and write them up myself, it really streamlines the process for me without getting kind of confused or distracted or miswriting anything, so it's a really good support tool in that sense, for me and that's how it's helped my learning.
