What key challenges did you need help with before you started using Genio?
Dana : Hi, my name is Dana. I'm studying with the Open University and I've had Genio for I think 5 years now, I think. So the key challenges that I needed help with before I started using Genio as a first year student at the time was that I really struggled with concentrating on the tutorials, what the tutor was saying because I was too busy trying to make sure I copied everything down from the slide because there was so much important information that I needed to have and then I just couldn't concentrate on writing down keywords and everything else, so having Genio was great because it could record the tutorials for me and transcribe them and it was easy to look back at, go back to at any point that I needed to. So yeah, I've really found that it helped me with key challenges.
How has Genio helped you with those challenges and impacted your learning experience?
Dana : So with the challenge that I had with being able to write down everything that I needed to for the tutorials, what was great about using Genio is that not only are they recording what's being said by your tutor, you can also change the slides so that you've got the relevant information on each slide that you need so you can go to the slide and be like OK what did we talk about in this bit that I really need to understand and also it allowed me to kind of look through the questions that were being asked by other students that were being answered so that I could like, think about OK what questions that I have as well about this, it just, it really freed up my brain to actually work the way I wanted it to, it helped with my stress levels and my confidence with my studying as well.
