Speaker: Valeria Barrera, Student at Mount Royal University

What key challenges did you need help with before you started using Genio (formerly Glean)?

Valeria Barrera: Hello, my name is Valeria, and I'm a student at Mount Royal University. I started using Glean in January after receiving my accommodations for ADHD and anxiety and what I wanted help with was being able to access my notes and recordings in an organized manner. Having ADHD and anxiety makes it hard to stay focused in class, so having the recording organized in my notes has helped me tremendously.

How has Genio (formerly Glean) helped you with those challenges and impacted your learning experience?

Valeria Barrera: So, Glean has positively impacted my studying and work life, because now I have a lot more time to actually focus on my school. Before I had to struggle with finding time, but now since it's all organized and easy access, now I can use a lot more time efficiently and spend more time studying rather than fussing around everywhere.

Would you recommend Genio (formerly Glean) to other students?

Valeria Barrera: So, I recommend using Glean to all of my friends who are students as well. And I think somebody who could really use this as people who have disabilities and who are in the workforce. So if you have to attend meetings and stuff like that, I think it would be really efficient for people with disabilities who can't concentrate as well, or can't take notes all the time, or can't organize themselves properly. I think this would work really well for them, not just the students.
