What key challenges did you need help with before you started using Genio (formerly Glean)?
Shayla Selon: Hi, I'm Shayla, and when I first started using Glean, I wanted help with obviously like taking notes better in class, but I wanted help with how I took notes, and I wanted to not just write stuff down that my professor says, but be able to be a better note taker, so being able to use Glean to get everything that my professor says, even stuff that I can't write down fast enough, was amazing and was great as a source of note taking and then being able to type down something really quick and be like, hey, my professor say was like, remember this on the exam, I'll type it real quick instead of writing it down, and I'll use the how do you say, the little important and the review and the little marks that had it on there when you're recording, I'll click it and I'll be like, oh, that's something important. Let me click it on here instead of writing it down cause I might not remember to look them back in my notes that I've written, but I can look back on Glean.
How has Genio (formerly Glean) helped you with those challenges and impacted your learning experience?
Shayla Selon: Glean has truly improved my learning experience. I am doing better in my classes this semester. Studying has become a lot easier for me. I can go back and look at exactly what my professor said instead of trying to remember it in my brain that goes like 100 miles a minute when thinking. I feel more confident when I study, and I'm like, OK, she actually understands, I actually learned something, and I love the transcript. It makes it easier for me because I'm also dyslexic, so being able to listen to a professor said, but also see it, it really helps a lot for me.
Would you recommend Genio (formerly Glean) to other students?
Shayla Selon: The amount of times that I have recommended Glean to my friends that don't even have access to it, it's crazy. Like, I would be a millionaire by the time, if I charged them for how many times I recommend it, honestly. Cause I get Glean through the Disability Research Center at UGA, and I absolutely love it. It's helped so much and being able to save all of the PowerPoints, all of the notes that I'm taking on it and not having to delete anything. All of it is saved. I have unlimited storage. I absolutely love it and I'll recommend it to anybody and everybody. Glean has totally saved me, takes the stress off of studying, and I love her. I love you guys. Thank you.
