Speaker: Samael Lundberg, Student at University of Oregon

What key challenges did you need help with before you started using Genio (formerly Glean)?

Samael Lundberg: I'm Samael, I'm studying at the University of Oregon and I've had Glean for a little over a year now. It's been really, really great for me because I cannot focus on what my teacher is saying and write notes at the same time. My brain just doesn't work like that.

How has Genio (formerly Glean) helped you with those challenges and impacted your learning experience?

Samael Lundberg: Glean has helped a lot with my stress levels in classroom situations, not having to work back and forth between listening to the the professor and looking at the slides and getting my notes and, you know, all of that.

Samael Lundberg: I was also talking about work life balance. I can like do other stuff while I relisten to my lectures later, make dinner, do my laundry, clean my apartment, vacuum my floor, I have that ability to do other stuff and study. I can't, I don't just have to sit there, which is really helpful cause I can't, I can't do that extended sitting doing nothing, just studying for a long period of time.

Samael Lundberg: The outlines help a lot as well with Glean, that ability to kind of outline what my lecturer is talking about and so I can kind of take some notes and listen and do a bit of both. And then definitely helps my grades a lot having that like reference point to go back to with the exact words that my professor said, as opposed to just like, this is what my notes say, and I don't even know how good these are, and I don't even really remember what this word is, like, very, very helpful in that way.

Would you recommend Genio (formerly Glean) to other students?

Samael Lundberg: I recommend Glean to pretty much anybody who will listen in terms of like, I've had a lot of like people sitting next to me in classes be like, what is that? What's that program? How are you, what are you doing? And then I get to kind of explain, this is my accommodation, this is why I use it, this is how it works.

Samael Lundberg: I would honestly, if I had it my way, I would say more people should do it. It's just, it's so helpful. I really like it a lot.
