What key challenges did you need help with before you started using Genio (formerly Glean)?
Maria A Gonzalez Fox: Hi, my name is Maria Gonzalez Fox. I just wanted to record this little video and let you guys know how much I appreciate Glean. I am a returning student after almost 40+ years of not going to school. Glean, thankfully to Glean, I was able to return to school at my age and complete my high school diploma, continue with my education in college at Mira Costa College as a matter of fact in Oceanside, California.
Maria A Gonzalez Fox: College using Glean. If it wasn't for Glean, I wouldn't be where I am today. I am also peer mentor for Mira Costa College thanks to my grades, my homework, everything thanks to Glean.
Maria A Gonzalez Fox: If it wouldn't be for Glean, I honestly don't think I would still be continuing my education. Glean is really a supportive tool for my educational career goals.
How has Genio (formerly Glean) helped you with those challenges and impacted your learning experience?
Maria A Gonzalez Fox: I never finished my education, I never finished school. When I decided to return to college, decided to return and try to get my high school diploma. I had very much difficulty in trying to just listen to a presentation in class and take notes. It was very hard for me, whether it was the teacher was too fast or the video was too long, And just not being able to absorb what was being talked about. With Glean, I'm able to put it side by side with the teacher's presentation or the video and have my Glean. And if there's an image or something, I could screenshot it. That's what I really like about it. And my favorite part about Glean is
Maria A Gonzalez Fox: education. I'm really grateful for this resource. I can't say how much it's really helped me in my education. And where I'm at now on my journey, I've even been able to make it as far as being on honor roll with the 3.6 GPA, especially after almost 40 plus years. So this is my third semester in school and I still use the services. I still use Glean. And I'm very grateful.
Would you recommend Genio (formerly Glean) to other students?
Maria A Gonzalez Fox: I'm actually peer mentor for my school for a program that I'm in at Mira Costa College. And with this opportunity, I'm able to speak to my peers. And they come to me for help and in any type of way like for homework or how to actually use Glean.
Maria A Gonzalez Fox: I know I used it when I started school, when I started to get back into my education and being able to give it to other students and show them how to use Glean and how much it really does help um with your studying and your education and it really helps you get good grades. And not only that, it makes it so much easier and stress-free. So yes, I am able to recommend it to my peers when they come to me, I'll set up an appointment, take some time, show them how to maneuver it, and that makes me happy. And they go away happy.
