When you first started using Glean, what were the key challenges you wanted help with?
Keishin McKibbin: Hi, my name is Keishin. I'm currently studying law with the modern Language at the University of Leicester, and I've been using Glean since I started at university from 1st year and I'm now in 3rd year, on a year abroad in Spain. When I first started using Glean, my biggest things that I needed help with would have been being able to get everything said in a lecture in some kind of hard format, specifically text. I know a lot of universities do have transcription services, as in their lectures are recorded, and you can access them, however, what I really needed was to be able to see all of the text, in one big go, which is what Glean specializes in. I've also found that Glean is really good with detecting accents and working around them. I know myself, I have a bit of an interesting accent, and I've never encountered any issue with this. Furthermore, I'm currently in my year abroad in Spain and Glean supports over 30 languages,
Keishin McKibbin: Glean has revolutionized the way I study. Being able to see the entire contents of a lecture and then being able to do what you will with it, incorporate it into your notes, you know, it is life changing and it is such an effective tool, and, you know, I've used a lot of transcription services, but so far nothing has quite compared to Glean, especially in Spanish.
How has Glean impacted your learning experience and how quickly did you notice this impact?
Keishin McKibbin: For me, Glean has impacted my learning experience in a way I can't even describe. It's just been so positive and so useful.
Keishin McKibbin: For me, I think if you're given the chance to make your life easier in a way that you might not have been able to beforehand,
Keishin McKibbin: it is wonderful and yeah, basically, its impact, the second I started using it.
Would you recommend Glean to other students?
Keishin McKibbin: For me, recommending Glean is really a no brainer, regardless of who you are, any conditions you may have,
Keishin McKibbin: and even, like I said before, students who are studying in a language that isn't their native language, I know with Spanish that Glean has been able to Pick up and correctly identify the words being said regardless of the accent in Spanish, the speed at which it's being said, and to this day, I haven't been able to find any or detect any issue or mistake in what Glean has picked up, and what the transcription has given me. Yeah, the time you save using Glean is definitely time gained in my opinion.
Keishin McKibbin: For me, it's an insurance. So I know that even if I didn't necessarily understand the concept, the first time, I know that I can go back and I can read it and I can even use the outline function. So for me, Glean is an integral part of my study and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to revolutionize the way that they study in university.
