Speaker: Echo van Voorst, Media and Business Student at Trent University
What key challenges did you need help with before you started using Genio (formerly Glean)?
Echo van Voorst: I'm a university student that struggled a lot with my concentration being diagnosed with ADHD and other neurodivergent symptoms. So having Glean really helped me stay focused in my lectures, as well as also giving me a place to have everything all together at once, rather than having a Word document and then recording on my phone and such.
How has Genio (formerly Glean) helped you with those challenges and impacted your learning experience?
Echo van Voorst: I noticed that my learning experiences were very quickly impacted after first using Glean as it helped me kind of keep organized and stay confident in what I was learning, as well as organizing my notes. And I have seen a great improvement in my grades after using Glean for about one year now.
Would you recommend Genio (formerly Glean) to other students?
Echo van Voorst: I would definitely recommend Glean to any university student, regardless of any mental or physical disabilities or neurodivergencies. I have friends who are neurotypical and find great use of Glean for its audio recording, as well as being able to show slides and your notes all in the same browser. It's very easy to use and has helped me a lot, as well as I've noticed a lot of other students.
