What key challenges did you need help with before you started using Genio (formerly Glean)?
Destiny Rose: Hello, my name is Destiny Rose, and I'm studying graphic design, and I've been using Glean for about 2 years now.
Destiny Rose: And I also find that helpful because I could take notes while I'm listening to the recording and I'm listening to everything the teacher is saying. So I found that very helpful.
Destiny Rose: And saving time on my studies, and that also does save a lot of time, because in my studies, because that's something I also needed help with. Working as a student here at CSU, it saves a lot of time, so I'm not trying to remember, "wait, what did that teacher say," or "what did she say to do" again, because I can literally just go back and just listen to everything, and I can catch up, on everything and that's a great study tool because it helps me study a lot of stuff that I need to remember.
How has Genio (formerly Glean) helped you with those challenges and impacted your learning experience?
Destiny Rose: I think it impacted my learning experience in a big way, especially first semester, because I was able to balance, having, I was able to balance a lot of work with using Glean. Especially when I was in classes, and I will listen to the teacher talk about stuff and sometimes I really can't hardly understand what she was saying, but then I would go back and listen to everything. Then I can look at everything, and then I would look at the AI outline, and I really love the AI outline outline because, it summarizes everything in a quicker and a more understandable manner, and I was like, oh, that's what she meant. So I feel like it impacted my work life balance, making it easier to take notes and go back and listening to them.
Would you recommend Genio (formerly Glean) to other students?
Destiny Rose: I definitely would recommend Glean to students who feel like recording their teachers is an easier option for them, or teachers or students who have accommodations like these, and I would recommend Glean to first year especially first year, freshmen, when they're trying to figure out stuff and they're trying to learn first all the resources, I definitely would recommend Glean to freshmen, beginners so they can have a resource that they can depend on like I did, and it's a very helpful tool, it helps you record your notes and has the AI outlines set in front of you so you can understand it better, and you can just go back and listen to everything the teacher said, so you're not trying to remember everything or trying to write it down. You could just go back and listen to everything she said, and it really helped me a lot, and it still helps me to this day, but it really did help me first semester. So I would say, first year beginners, maybe students with disabilities, and students who have certain accommodations for in the classroom. I would recommend this as one of the accommodations, because this was also one of was one of my one of my accommodations first semester. So I would say, yeah, especially first year beginners, first year students who come to Cleveland State, they definitely need to hear about this, because this was this is a great tool to use.
