Speakers: Candace Stubblefield, Law Student at University of the Pacific
When did you first receive Glean and were there any key challenges you wanted help with?
Candace Stubblefield: Hello, my name is Candace. I'm a student at University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law. I started using Glean at the beginning of the fall 2024 semester, and it's been instrumental for me ever since. I use it because I need the recordings of our professor's lectures to go back to what I may have lost focus on and catch things that I might have missed.
How has using Glean impacted your learning experience and how quickly did you notice this impact?
Candace Stubblefield: Glean impacted my learning experience immediately upon gaining access to it. Just being able to record lectures and transcribe them so that I could add information to my notes was huge because we have long class periods and it can be hard to maintain focus that long. And in law school, everything the professor says is important, so you have to keep up. Now I record the book AI systems, reading the material before class, and then I use the outline feature to create an outline from that reading so that I can use that to follow along with and take notes in class. After class I'm able to compile all of that together for a more comprehensive study guide that I use for exams. And without Glean, I would still be trying to fill in the missing notes. So I wish that all students could have this stress reliever. This is huge for me.
Would you recommend Glean to other students?
Candace Stubblefield: I would absolutely recommend Glean to other students. In fact, I wish that it was mandatory that Glean be available for all students. I have two teenage boys, one's 14, 1 is 17, one's in middle school, one's in high school, and this app would be tremendous for them.
Candace Stubblefield: It has changed everything about the way I'm able to go to school, and I wish that everybody had this access. I wish we were not expected to remember everything that a professor tells you in an hour or two.
