Speaker: Ali, Student at Regents Theological College
What key challenges did you need help with before you started using Genio (formerly Glean)?
Ali: Hello, my name is Ali and I have been using Glean for 2 years. I started last September when I first started my undergraduate studies and so I came straight from doing a gap year and before that I was at college and at college I would often find that I'd zone out or miss key information or the class would be disruptive and so I'd miss what was going on, And so then it would impact my studies in that way. I also like to be able to process what I've learned, again after the lecture, because. I can't process it all at the same time.
How has Genio (formerly Glean) helped you with those challenges and impacted your learning experience?
Ali: So I don't know what university life would have been like without Glean, because I had it straight from the get-go, but it has been really useful in terms of if I need to have 5 minutes out of class or just zone out for a couple of minutes. I've been able to then go back to it after class. and also sometimes my notes. I go back to them and think, what is all of that about? But if I've got it, synced up to the recording, it just makes that an awful lot easier to then be able to go back and think, ah, that's what I was making notes about because it makes sense at this time, but might not make sense afterwards. So, yeah, Glean has been very helpful in that way. It's also meant that I've been able to use the interactive features such as the quizzes and, like headings and stuff to just really be able to make my notes make sense.
Would you recommend Genio (formerly Glean) to other students?
Ali: So I think that Glean would help anyone that finds it hard to focus in lectures or those that may get easily distracted. It would also help those that need time to process, things afterwards. So yes, I would definitely recommend Glean as being very helpful in my experience.
