Speakers: Moira, Student at University of Hong Kong
What key challenges did you need help with before you started using Glean?
Moira: Hello, my name is Moira, and I'm currently in my 3rd year studying art history at the University of Hong Kong, and I've been using Glean close to about 1 year now. Prior to using Glean, studying and note taking has never really been my forte. I have never really had a sense of structure when it came to these things, especially as someone with ADHD. I also struggled a lot with paying attention. In class and the fact that I never really had a structure when it came to my studying made it even harder to consolidate that information in my head. And so I was kind of at a loss. I felt that I was going through university just by sheer luck. Sometimes I do good in some classes, sometimes I wouldn't, and that I really felt the need to find the right study habit for myself.
How has Glean helped you with those challenges and impacted your learning experience?
Moira: I think Glean has helped me with something that might seem a bit simple, but to me is the biggest hurdle, which is to even get started on studying. The fact that the platform has so many different utilities, including the voice recording feature and the fact that you can upload your slides and take notes at the same time, the fact that it's all in one platform makes it so much easier to start because I don't have to go and open multiple things and gather all the information together just to get things started and rolling. And for people with ADHD, I think that that's one of the biggest struggles, especially with our executive dysfunction. It might seem really overwhelming, with all the different things that you need to do, but the fact that it just organizes it all for you and makes you feel really confident to get started, I think that that's one of the biggest things that Glean is helping me with.
